The Night Round

As the drama of the day winds down, the citizens go back to their homes for the night, sleeping and getting ready for the next day...or do they?

Most roles act during the night round. Unlike the day round, only one action (the oracle's !divine) in the night round is instantaneous - all other actions will only happen after night ends. The night round has 2 different parts.

  • The night, the longer part where players with night roles can perform their roles. Married couples frolic around during the night round too, resulting in a pregnancy and/or transmission of aids if applicable.
  • Dawn, a shorter part where a few events take place. They are -
    • Werewolf success or failure announced by a presence/absence of a howl
    • Werewolf kill announced if applicable
    • Vampire success or failure announced by presence/absence of a huge bat
    • Vampire kill announced if applicable
    • AIDS deaths announced
    • Oracle gets the chance to !divine
    • Jail break-outs announced

List of skills and events that can occur during the night

  • The Mafioso can vote on murder target
  • The Werewolf can choose a bite target
  • The Vampire can choose a suck target
  • The Camorrista can vote on murder target
  • The Detective can vote on investigate/arrest target, use bombsquad or appoint a deputy
  • The Doctor can choose a target to visit for the night
  • The Prostitute can choose a target to disable for the night. If it is the first night, the prostitute chooses an alignment instead.
  • The Necromancer can use possess, confuse or hearghosts skills. If necromancer is currently possessing a target he does not have a night role.
  • The Oracle can use divine (Dawn only)
  • The Terrorist can plant a bomb on a target
  • The Freemason can vote on inviting or seancing a player, using a ritual on a player if prepared, or preparing to perform a ritual.
  • Members of Giant Clam secret society can cast their suicide vote.
  • Sexual intercourse between newly married players.

List of events that can occur at the end of night

The following things happen in the end of the night (in this order):

  • Santa Claus delivers a present (special Christmas Season feature).
  • The Prostitute chooses her alignment or visits someone.
  • The target of the Mafioso murder is decided.
  • The target of the Camorrista murder is decided.
  • The previously arrested player is released, if there was one.
  • The action taken by the police is decided (including bomb squad).
  • The police receive the results of their investigation, if they had decided to investigate someone.
  • The Terrorist plants a bomb.
  • The Doctor makes his late night house call.
  • Players visited by a seropositive Prostitute but not by the Doctor contract AIDS.
  • Players shot by the Mafia or Camorra but visited by the Doctor are spared.
  • The Necromancer casts a spell.
  • The Grand Master of the Freemasons performs a ritual (if such was decided) and dismisses the meeting.
  • The Giant Clam unveiling decision is made.
  • The gods' anger against the Oracle subsides.
  • All monsters (werewolves and vampires) rampage through town, willingly or unwillingly biting innocents, mafia, camorra or fight with each other.
  • The players who were bitten/sucked by monsters (werewolves and vampires) without being killed are converted to new monsters.
  • Seropositives get a little worse and possibly die.
