The Village Idiot is like a normal Citizen, but, rather lacking in the brain department, he allowed his inner demons to misguide him into siding with the organized crime as informant, clown, sneak. Part of the cast of fringe characters leeching off the rampage of the crime families, he can't win on his own, but he'll do his best to destroy his fellow citizens for the benefit of his Camorra or Mafia masters.

Start as Freemason Game with a Freemason Lodge In the beginning of a game, the cumulative role of Freemason is usually assigned to Citizens, but there is a chance the Village Idiot, as a fake Citizen, will be invited.
Camorra channel

If siding with the Camorra The Village Idiot can use this channel to talk privately to the other members of the Camorra faction, except for a Camorra-aligned Prostitute.
Mafia channel

(m MESSAGE)

If siding with the Mafia The Village Idiot can use this channel to talk privately to the other members of the Mafia faction, except for a Mafia-aligned Prostitute.
Immune to investigation Permanent The Village Idiot will always show up as a Citizen when investigated by the police.
Vulnerable to exorcism Permanent Village Idiots can be targeted by a Priest's exorcism. There's a 50% chance that the exorcism removes the evil from their soul and turns them back into normal Innocents-aligned Citizens, which will cause them to go mute. However, there's also a chance that the Village Idiot will be put in limbo instead. Players sent to Limbo cannot be revived and earn no victories, defeats or mafia points for the current game (gambling still works, however.)

False accusations

As the village idiot, your duty is to cause confusion and calamity. Thus since the village idiot is so stupid even a lie detector can help the detectives decide his alignment, his best bet to aid his mafioso buddies is to spread lies and deceit. A village idiot should whenever possible announce possible fake targets for every execution without a proper target.

However there is one guaranteed accusation that every village idiot can make if the Freemason threshold is satisfied and the role exist, a village idiot can claim any other player as an evil freemason who chose to perform the curse ritual. Providing of course that the other player is not detective, or any role which could verify their innocence. This claim is often a full proof way of guaranteeing a innocent hanging and a majority of the time allowing you to continue causing chaos unnoticed by all.

Fake Detective

In small game where only one detective exists, often he may not declare public detective immediately until he is sure of the identity of a mafia player, this is of course to ensure his survival should the doctor be killed. However since no detective declares himself to be the public detective, as the village idiot you can claim to have the role and then randomly targets for execution while declaring other innocents to have been investigated.

While it may seem smart to declare your own faction members to be investigated to be innocent, a player should realize that the detective could instinctively decide you are the village idiot. Thus then decide that your investigated innocent are truly agents of darkness and use this to his advantage providing target for execution without a proper investigation and claiming it is due to his suspicion of yourself as an enemy agent (especially since if you are executed first, your death reveals your faction).

Freemason Master

A village idiot that has been gifted with the cumulative role of freemason should always inform his allies of any other members in the cult, this should make the other member a primary target for assassination. To ensure that your evil status is not revealed a pro player will often decide the first skill to be used should be !invite, since this mean you can recruit other members to replace you should you die.

Once you have control of the freemasons, you should pay close attention to mafia targets and inform your allies of targets for your !curse spells. You should also if accused of being evil attempt to cause confusion by stating you role as freemason in hope that players will assume your spells have been failing. However admitting your freemason status should only be done if you are sure that you can escape death or if your next spell is actually !invite or !revive.
