Unfortunatly, this wiki, painstakingly written by myself in December and the first half of January (with the help of Lazygamer and a few others), was entirely lost when my server's hard drive went to hell very suddenly and unexpectedly last week. Because it was so recent, there were no backups yet. This is a tremendous loss, and I definitely do not want to keep working on the Mafia project until we recover from it.

This is where you, the community, can help. There are many people who like Mafia and there were several dozens of active players before the start of Mafia 4.0 development. I ask you all to put your Mafia knowledge to a good use and rebuild this wiki the way wikis are meant to be built: Everyone together. As soon as the wiki is reasonably complete again, we can restart Mafia and Mafia development.

Accessing Mafia

  • Rules and etiquette (The behavior rules of Mafia, which are enforced by the moderators.)
  • How to connect (How to access Mafia from IRC, telnet, flash client, etc.)
  • User accounts (How to login, register a nickname, change a password, etc.)
  • The Flash Client (What it is and how to use it. This page was not complete before so you don't need to complete it now either.)

How to play

  • Basic introduction (new players should read this) (Very high level game description - explain factions, night, day, morning, afternoon, executions, victory, talk channels, etc. Include links to the other pages.)
  • Starting a game (Explain !start and !join, including mode votes and conditions.)
  • The factions (One section to explain each faction subjectively - How they play, how they win, etc.)
  • The Night Round (Explain the different parts of the night round and exactly what happens and in which order in each of them. Ask Protected and Lazy for help.)
  • The Day Round (Explain the different parts of the day round and exactly what happens and in which order in each of them. Ask Protected and Lazy for help.)
  • The Anti-AFK system (Explain how it's triggered, what the player has to do, what happens if he's killed by it. Short page.)
  • Victory conditions (List the victory conditions and what faction wins for each of them; include exceptions and details.)
  • Rock-Paper-Scissors (Explain how to play this, the scoring, how to win, buy weapons, combine weapons (here you link to the weapon combinations page too))

  • List of Roles (Table with main roles, possible alignments, amounts, and if you want natural enemies. Table with cumulative roles, conditions, amounts.)
  • List of Status Effects (List all the possible status effects and what they mean. Leave a column on the left for icons to be added later.)

  • List of Commands (List every single command in the game and what it does, or link to relevant page if it's already explained elsewhere. Ask Protected and Lazy for help.)
  • List of Santa Presents (List all the Santa presents and what they do. If they are stored in the player's inventory explain also how to use them.)
  • Rock-Paper-Scissors Weapons and Combinations (Tables with all the weapons in RPS and how the win or lose to each other, and also how they steal or are stolen. Ask Prot or Lazy for help.)
