The Detective is a member of the police force; a public service under the guidance of Agent Smith, who has vast amount of resources to be used in the important duty of keeping the town safe and free of pesky criminals, not to mention bloodthirsty monsters. He is an informed Innocent, and should try to lead the actions of the members of their faction in a way that results in the triumph of the Innocents against evil.

Night round | Casts a vote for the target of a night's investigation. An investigation will usually (save for a small chance of failure) let the Detectives know the occupation of a player. The Village Idiot and Oracle are immune to investigation. This ability can be blocked by the Prostitute, and if there are no effective votes, no investigation will occur. |

Night round | Casts a vote for the target of the next morning's arrest. The police can either investigate or arrest, not both, and the course of action taken is determined by the amount of votes of each type. An arrested player will not be able to use his skills or vote in the Day Round execution for one full day, after which one of the following things will happen:

If no Detectives are left to investigate or arrest, no investigation or arrest will occur. This ability can be blocked by the Prostitute. |
